It's difficult for Australia to set fresh records.

The highest peaks have long been mastered.

This is the squad that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, plus six more T20 titles, and once went 1,294 days undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, the ones sought by the peak baggers, are all that remain for a team that has accomplished all there is.

It needed as late as Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to accomplish their maiden ODI chase exceeding 300, reclaiming their record for the highest in the women's 50-over format, is, frankly, a compliment to the pitchers that have represented Australia over the past 50 years.

It is hard for their batsmen to possess a record if never given the possibility.

Finally, the outcome of Australia giving up 330 runs was captain Alyssa Healy being given a chance to produce her most recent brilliance.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 came as she was the highest scorer, but this knock followed six innings in India from the beginning of the previous month in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"If you've observed me in practice sessions, it has been a disappointing period because it appeared I lacked timing at all," commented Healy.

"But once you take the field, your competitive instincts kick in and you simply focus on the match."

Healy's fighting spirit has continuously been her major advantage - and an irreplaceable characteristic in replacing famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was tormented by India's rising star Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, fallen to the 22-year-old seamer in each encounter, but here that only provided Healy's motivation.

One run resulted off the bowler's initial ball and from that point Healy was in motion.

"A chance to go out there and engage in competition with her and merely enjoy the moment in that regard, somewhat inspired me," commented Healy.

She got to fifty in 35 pitches - her quickest at the global tournament - and her hundred in 84 deliveries while she flogged anything short, scoring 21 fours and three big hits.

By the time she was dismissed Australia needed 66 more at a run-a-ball - an unconquered height now needing a comfortable finish.

"To chase 330 is new territory so I am glad we have the confidence to accomplish that now," continued Healy.

"Ideally we won't need to do it again but, should it happen, we know we can do it."

That comment will be the final thing rival teams at this championship need to hear.

Over the past five days a belief they will triumph from any situation has grown stronger - this success following success over Pakistan by 107 run margin despite struggling at 76-7 at a certain moment.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before a meeting with traditional opponents England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a semi-final berth may well be secure.

It was in the semi-finals they were eliminated from the prior year's T20 World Cup in a surprising setback by South Africa - a match Healy couldn't play because of ruptured tissue in her foot as she guided Australia for the first time at a major tournament.
